I’ve been musing about this bell-focussed puzzle for quite some time now, having gathered the components a few months ago. I finally found time today to work through this creative project, and I’m quite happy with how it turned out – beautiful as well as functional.
We had some used old red cedar boards at the back of the house, and I borrowed one to upcycle as part of this project. A bit of stain, a bit of colourful string, nine silver jingle bells, and some steel staples that I hand-coloured using paint pens has produced this lovely little beauty. I think the puzzle itself will be too complicated for our younger players, but likely perfect for the 10 to 16 year old groups. That is – assuming it passes some testing. I’m a bit worried about the string durability – I’ve used a heavy weight thread, but breakage is a risk. Fingers crossed it holds up! And if not, at the very least I have an interesting piece of wall art…
